Considering buying a car in October? There are only 3 car launches happening in October that may impact your budget.
October 2026 is a busy time for India, featuring seven new car launches between the 5th and 17th. If you are a regular shopper and are shopping in the mainstream market, most of these won’t impact your purchase in any way. Here are the 3 launches that really warrant your interest and then there are just the launches you’re interested in reading about.
The Three That Matter
The Skoda Slavia facelift is the best seller of the month on October 6 with a bigger digital driver’s display, rear seat massaging, and a 360-degree camera. The price of the new Slavia will be Rs 20,000 to 50,000 more than its predecessor, so if you’ve been looking at the current Slavia, you’ll need to keep a close eye on it before you sign on the dotted line.
The Toyota Glanza facelift will come next on October 14. It will share the same platform with the recently updated Baleno and so can expect a similar face lift: new front fascia, new alloy wheels, ventilated seats, tyre-pressure monitoring system, and Level 2 ADAS. A CNG automatic is also anticipated which is an invaluable feature for CNG users who are more concerned about operating expenses.
The Hyundai Bayon arrives at the end of the month, in late October. It fits in the middle between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai’s lineup, and the eventual pricing of the car will determine whether it will be a viable option for compact SUV buyers or just another variation to cross-shop against for cars Hyundai already sells.
The Rest Is Aspirational Reading
The other 4 launches are farther above the buying zone. Premium and luxury launches such as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, Volvo’s electric EX90/ES90 models and the new generation of the Audi Q3 are interesting in the sense of technology and design, but not relevant to those who are on a mainstream budget. The Renault Duster Hybrid which comes with a 1,8-litre hybrid engine and a pair of electric motors, is somewhere in the middle, so to speak. If you’re following the hybrid trend, you should know all about it, but if you’re a first-time buyer, it’s a bit too late.
In case you can only monitor three launches this month, choose the Slavia, the Glanza and the Bayon. Everything else is worth reading, it’s not necessary to budget for it.
