The Maruti Suzuki XL7 has become a reality. The Suzuki XL7 is not a leak or a rumour, but a confirmed car that was officially revealed at the GIIAS 2026 motor show in Indonesia on July 29, with confirmed specifications and pricing for the Indonesian market. The XL7 is based on the same platform as India’s Maruti XL6, so this reveal is essentially a preview of the facelift that Indian buyers can look forward to.
What’s changed on the exterior
The majority of the changes are located at the front. The XL7 now has a larger, all-black grille for a more rugged, SUV-like appearance, and new C-shaped fog lamp housings. Suzuki has also introduced new 16-inch alloy wheels in black, blacked-out tail lamps, and blacked-out door handles. The new colours in Indonesia are Ice Grayish Blue-Black and Marble Black. It is not yet certain which colours will be available in India.
What’s new on the interior
The interior features the largest touchscreen. The refreshed XL7 is equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen which is an improvement over the 7-inch display that is already available on the XL6 in India. The top variants also get a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, and an inbuilt dashcam which would be a real plus for Indian customers if it were to be transferred.
Engine, price, and what it means for India
The powertrain remains unchanged. The XL7 is powered by a 1.5-litre engine and mild hybrid support similar to the 1.5-litre K15C smart hybrid engine that is used in the XL6 in India, which produces 103 PS and 139 Nm of torque, and is available in 5-speed manual, and 6-speed automatic transmissions.
The facelift comes in three variants with a price range of Rp 274.3 million to Rp 312.9 million in Indonesia. While Maruti has not confirmed the price of the facelift in India, the current XL6 is priced between Rs 11.50 lakh and Rs 14.50 lakh. The new features are likely to push the price up slightly.
The design is now completely revealed and an official launch of the XL6 facelift in India is not far off, probably in the festive season.
