Mahindra Vision S is emerging as one of the most awaited sub-4-metre SUVs in India. The Mahindra Vision S has not been officially priced, but estimates suggest the price to be in the range of ₹10.5 lakh to ₹17-20 lakh ex-showroom depending on the variant and powertrain. However, before buyers wait, it makes sense to compare the actual numbers with the two rivals they are already walking into showrooms to buy – Tata Nexon and the recently launched Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift.
EMI Math at Rs 10 Lakh On-Road Price.
Choose a common denominator: Rs 10 lakh on road, 20% down payment (Rs 2 lakh), and a standard loan of 7 years with an interest rate of about 9%. This means that you will have a loan of Rs 8 lakh. If you are purchasing all three cars at the same on-road price then the monthly EMI is around Rs 12,800 to 13,200 for all three cars at these terms.
That’s where most comparisons fall short. The price difference between Vision S, Nexon and Brezza is not the real difference at this price point. It’s what extra features and changes you get with each variant for that money.

Service Costs and Resale Value: Nexon vs Brezza vs Vision S

The long-term math gets interesting here. The running cost advantage of Maruti Suzuki cars is well established. The Brezza is serviced every 10,000 km or 12 months, and the annual service bill is one of the lowest in the segment. The Brezza also comes with Maruti’s nationwide network of service centers that can be found in smaller towns where its competitors might not be present.
The service intervals are comparable, but the cost of owning a Tata Nexon may be slightly higher, particularly for the turbo-petrol models. Tata has made strides in recent years in the resale segment, but Maruti still has the upper hand.
Mahindra has a less impressive resale history in the sub-4m segment than both. The XUV 3XO has done wonders for the brand’s image, but if you are considering the resale value of the car after 5 years, there is not as much data available for Mahindra products as there is for Maruti.
Should You Wait for the Vision S?
Mahindra has not officially announced the date, but the production-spec model of the Mahindra Vision S is widely anticipated to be unveiled at Mahindra’s Independence Day celebration on August 15, 2026. The Vision S will be priced at Rs 10.5 lakh on-road and if you have a budget of Rs 10-11 lakh, you will be buying at the entry level. Today, the same amount of money will buy you a better equipped Nexon or Brezza variant with known service costs and a known resale history.
If Mahindra can add some good features at that entry price and their recent launches indicate they may, the balance might change. However, the wait risk is a reality: launch dates can slip and each month that passes is a month that the car is not available.
