Hyryder Aero Black Edition

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has unveiled a new Aero Black Edition for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It’s important to note that this is not a new variant that comes with a new price point or new equipment, it’s a Rs 31,999 dealer-fitted styling package that is added to the existing Hyryder.

What You Actually Get

The Aero Black Edition is only available on the G and V variants, in both the Neo Drive mild-hybrid and Strong Hybrid powertrain. It is only available in the Midnight Black exterior colour. The Rs 31,999 price tag includes a front grille upper garnish, front spoiler, headlamp garnish, tailgate garnish, rear spoiler, and an exclusive Aero Black limited edition badge. All of these are cosmetic designed to make the Hyryder look more aggressive and blacked out on the road without affecting any mechanical components.

Nothing Changes Under the Hood

Those who were expecting a performance boost in addition to the new appearance will be disappointed. The Hyryder is powered by the same 1.5-litre Neo Drive petrol engine that has been used in previous models which comes with both manual and automatic transmissions, and an optional 4WD model, and the 1.5-litre Strong Hybrid powertrain with a petrol engine and electric motor for a claimed 27.97 km/l. For those who want to go the extra mile, Toyota is also providing an optional All Black Package at an extra dealer-level charge.

Is It Worth It

If you already own a Hyryder or are planning to purchase one and are already committed to the G or V variant in black, the Aero Black Edition is a relatively budget-friendly option to differentiate your SUV in a market where most vehicles on the road are looking alike. It’s also much less expensive than upgrading a trim level for a more sporty appearance, at Rs 32,000. However, buyers should be aware that this is an “appearance” package, not a mechanical or feature upgrade, and will only be available while supplies last. The Hyryder is priced between Rs 11.31 lakh and Rs 20.19 lakh ex-showroom which makes the Aero Black Edition a better add-on option when booking than a reason to opt for the Hyryder over a competitor.
