The Baleno’s ex-showroom price now runs from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh.The Fronx starts higher at Rs 6.85 lakh and tops out at Rs 11.98 lakh. At the top end, that is nearly Rs 2 lakh more than the priciest Baleno variant for a car built on the same underpinnings.
What the Baleno Facelift Adds That the Fronx Skips
The updated Baleno’s biggest change is not styling, it is safety. The facelift brings a Level 2 ADAS suite, covering adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking. The Fronx offers none of this on any variant. The Baleno’s new 1.2 litre, three-cylinder petrol makes 83 PS and 112 Nm, with a CNG version and manual or AMT gearbox choices. It is also the more fuel-efficient of the two. The Fronx sticks with its 1.2 litre, four-cylinder petrol or CNG engines, and adds a 1 litre turbo-petrol paired with a proper torque-converter automatic, making 100 PS and 148 Nm for buyers who drive more on highways.
Set against each other, the choice comes down to what a buyer values more. The Baleno facelift makes a stronger case on paper, undercutting the Fronx on price while adding safety features the pricier car still lacks. The Fronx’s answer is its SUV-styled body and stronger automatic engine option, features no facelift has changed.
