Honda Cars India has increased the price of the older Honda Amaze for the second time this year. The new Honda Amaze price increase is effective from September and the price of the selected variants has increased by up to Rs 15,210 making the ex-showroom price range from Rs 7.65 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh.
How Much More Expensive Is the Amaze?
The base V manual version is up by Rs 14,010, whereas the V automatic version is up by a relatively small Rs 4,710. The mid-spec VX manual goes up by Rs 13,410 while the VX automatic is the biggest loser of the bunch at Rs 15,210 higher. The ZX manual is priced Rs 14,210 higher at the top while Honda has not changed the price of the ZX automatic which remains at its previous price.
The Second Hike in the Same Year
The increase is significant because it’s not a one-time occurrence. Honda last updated the prices of this same Amaze in January 2026, when it increased the prices by as much as Rs 6,990. The industry often talks about rising costs and safety requirements, so increasing the price of one model twice in just 9 months is quite aggressive.
What Buyers Still Get for the Money
Although the older Amaze is more expensive, it hasn’t altered its basic product. It still has a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 89bhp and 110Nm of torque, coupled to a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic. The feature side is complete with a full-LED light system on the exterior, automatic climate control in the cabin, a large centre touchscreen and USB-A and USB-C charging ports. There is also an official CNG retrofitment option for those who wish to have a lower running cost.
The larger takeaway for consumers is that this Amaze is still cheaper than the newer third-generation model, and is one of the most budget-friendly options for ADAS safety tech in a car in India today, despite these two price increases this year. That’s probably more important to anyone who’s looking at compact sedans on a limited budget than the size of this latest increase.
